The Tresarca House was designed by AssemblageSTUDIO, a local firm in Las Vegas, to match its surrounding environment. The design was created as an extension of the landscape through the stacking and placement of boxes nestled into the topography. Crevices between the solid structures form a courtyard where shade and water cool the space, mimicking the ecology of the nearby Red Rock Mountains. The mesh screen wrapped around the upper level diffuses the intense sun, naturally cooling the interior. The bedrooms are dispersed between the basement and the top floor with the ground floor containing the social program and various courtyards. This house blurs the line between indoors and out through the idea of living space not being determined by structural enclosures, extending past perceived boundaries and into the idea of comfortable living both inside and out.
