A cult classic had been born when the Willy’s Jeep crawled the war-torn battlefields of World War II. Unfortunately, times have passed and the need for Jeeps in the military has utterly declined. Even though their service is no longer needed on the frontline Jeep Wranglers still are one of the most iconic vehicles in the world. Whether it is their removable doors and tops, fishing pole-like antenna, or just its classic grill the Jeep have grown into the hearts of many. Since its initial production in 1941, the Jeep Wrangler family has been associated with the off-road. Jeep enthusiasts are willing to spend thousands more on post production modifications to have the ultimate off-road vehicle. But doing that requires a lot of time and research, so instead of building the ultimate Jeep on your own contact the people at Starwood Motors.
Starwood Motors is well known in the Jeep world for customizations. They purchase brand-new and used Jeeps straight from the factory and other dealerships, and from there they add a bumper and winch combo, side armor bars and steps, tow ropes, 130 watt 6” KC lights, and many other small things to improve the ride. Unless they are told otherwise, Starwood will repaint the Jeep with a special Kevlar paint blend. The paint protects the body from rust, minor scratches, and it will show less dirt and grime. After that their vehicles can go in many directions. From the outside, some will be turned into Jeep pickups, hatchbacks, and the rest have nearly double the MPG the factory Jeeps do. Inside you might see premium leather seating, a Kenwood audio package worth $5K, or a HUD night vision screen. Starwood will tweak the vehicle’s suspension to the buyer’s preference. A 5 year/ 60,000 mile power train warranty is the first of its kind in the off-road industry. Check out their inventory, and learn more while there. Prices range from $30,000 all the way to $240,000.
If you like to standout from the rest, consider Starwood Motor’s Project Jeeps. Since 2010, the company has released a handful of custom models. Each one is truly one of a kind, and is made for many different lifestyles and personalities. The designers for Starwood Motors left no stone unturned during the creation of this machine. The Nighthawk’s custom paint job of Magnesium Matte Metallic with matching Kevlar finished bumpers will make one drop their jaw at first sight… trust me, I’ve seen one myself. Once your jaw is closed turn your attention to the wheels. American Force rims powdered in Sable Brown are the cherry on top of the this Jeep’s exterior. Let’s now look inside the vehicle. An unbelievable Cocoa Bugatti full interior leather package from Lifted Off Road. This includes everything from the seats, center console, upper and lower dash, side pillars, and the doors. Starwood’s audio department had the final say in the vehicle’s interior. The factory speakers were removed to be replaced by Alpine’s SPR-60C and SPS 610c. A 10” Alpine SWR-T10 subwoofer was added to the trunk. Alpine’s 8” navigation system controls the sounds from the Jeep’s dash.
If you are still not sold on this model, it is time to learn about where this Jeep gets its muscle from. A supercharged 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine powers this beast. That wasn’t enough for the Starwood team; they added a Ripp Supercharger system and custom exhaust which in total produces 325hp. Jeeps are meant to go just about anywhere, but to handle any terrain you might encounter a Favtech 5” Crawler Suspension system, Dirt Logix remote reservoir coil over shocks, a BDS dual stabilizer, Teraflex big brakes, a G2 high strength front and rear axle, and finally 5.13 gears. The Devil himself wouldn’t mind taking this Jeep back to Hell. The El Diablo is one of Starwood Motors most popular and recognizable builds. Without the El Diablo the company may not be as popular and successful as it is today. This was one of the company’s first kevlar Jeeps, and that is what got the attention of many of social media networks. El Diablo’s exterior is strong enough to take on the post apocalyptic world. Gloss Black Kevlar Liner covers the vehicle’s flat style fender flares and body. While a Red Kevlar “Wrangler” graphic accents parts of the AEV Heat Reduction Hood and fenders. The Jeep is equipped with heavy duty a front and rear bumper, grill guard, side rock armor, and D-rings by MBRP Off road equipment. Like all standard Starwood Motor’s Jeeps El Diablo comes with 11 LED lights from Hella, a front windshield light bar, undercarriage lights, and JW Speaker LED headlights. A 4” Short Arm Suspension allows for Nitto Trail Grapplers with 18” Moto Metal Black Machined Wheels. The custom audio and video system was provided by Alpine and features: 7” navigation system, SPR-60C, SWR-T10 10” subwoofer, 5 channel digital amplifier, and a rear view camera. Currently unavailable, but with the release of the 2015 Wrangler stay tuned for updates on ordering the El Diablo.
Jeeps were originally made for our troops, so it is only fair that their stories inspire at least one of Starwood Motor’s Project Jeeps. The Nightstalker is dedicated to the pilots 160th Military SOAR division for their ability to strike undetected in the dead of night. Night Stalkers live under their motto, “Night Stalkers Don’t Quit.” Never underestimate the creativity of the people at Starwood Motors, for they have tipped the scale this time. A special camouflage pattern designed by Kryptek known as the “Typhoon” lines the Jeep. The pattern uses multi-directional designs to conceal the vehicle in a multitude of terrains which makes this vehicle slide under the radar. US Nightvision teamed with the company to incorporated an ATAC 360º thermal camera. The camera feeds into an 8” Alpine navigation system that provides the driver with clear visual images of everything that is around the vehicle.Along with the head unit, this Jeep features an Alpine entertainment and safety system with: backup camera, 3 pairs of SPR-60C speakers, 2 SIIVR-T10 Subs, PDX-F6 4 Channel Amp, and PDX-M12 Mono Amp. Designed with military inspiration this vehicle makes frequent appearances at gun shows across the nation. Most frequently the Vegas SHOT show. Since it makes many appearances at gun shows, Starwood added custom rifle and shotgun mounts for the doors and middle console. Learn more about the Nightstalker here.
It is the Bumble Bee of Jeeps. The Yellow Jacket by Starwood is one of the companies most popular and recognizable builds. This Jeep’s custom paint job is a combination of Satin Black and Yellow Kevlars, paired with honeycomb wheels and sharp Metal Cloak fenders this vehicle is a queen bee on steroids. To protect the jeep from they mayhem it will go through, the design team at Starwood added a VPR short front bumper, rear Ultima bumper, AMP Power side steps. When your off-road friends get stuck and require an extra hand, or rope, a Warn Zeon winch was placed in the front bumper. An AEV Heat reduction was added for style protection from overheating. Two light bars and standard quad lights will brighten your path as you drive through the night. Inside lies a beautiful interior made with Ferrari 458 Italia Nappa leather in black with yellow contrast and stitching. Unlike their other Jeeps, the Yellow Jacket has custom gauges reflect the cars outer beauty. Equipped with the Alpine Audio Package. Currently unavailable, but if the Yellow Jacket is for you don’t hesitate to call the team at StarWood Motors.
Full Metal Jacket
“What happens when you strip a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited down to the bare essentials and start all over?” Well they did, and that is how the Full Metal Jacket was born. Their goal was to create the baddest looking Jeep on the market, and be the most capable off-road 4WD anywhere. Everything had to be removed to make this possible, even the interior’s carpet. No longer adorned with factory accessories like seats, drive shafts, exhausts, axles, suspension, and exterior body panels this Jeep became something else. The Full Metal Jacket is the embodiment of every Project Jeep. It takes the best of their worlds making it a utopian vehicle, minus the gas mileage.
Underneath the Jeep is where we will start. Curry Rock Jock’s 1 ton axles are found beneath the Full Metal Jacket. They are blast proof giving the owner confidence needed to go anywhere without worrying about broker outers or axle shafts. The shocks have a 14” coil protecting them, and that allows for the Jeep to ride at any height from 9” to infinity. No matter what the challenges are rocks, valleys, washouts, or even the car in your spot this Jeep can get over anything. A 5.13 gear ratio paired with 40” tired give the ride as much traction as needed.
Topside, the body is painted with their toughest blend of Kevlar body armor. The front and rear bumpers will keep the Jeep dent and scratch free when driving through a thick brush or zombie pack. Full Metal’s LED lights will turn night into day. The Warn winch will pull any lessor vehicle out of anything.
The Jeep’s inside is something else. There’s no need for floor mats anymore because of a Kevlar sprayed floor. Full custom leather seat will provide the drive and his passengers with comfort. Everyone will notice your custom navigation, sound system (with a one-of-a-kind subwoofer in the back). Unfortunately you only have the choice between safari half doors or factory full frames. Pick your liking, or just buy the other one from MOPAR. If you are a Jeep lover, love the outdoors, want the baddest ride of them all, and never plan to sell your ride, the Full Metal Jacket is for you. Currently out of stock call the dealers at Starwood Motor’s for ordering information.
This conversion is starting to become quite popular for Jeep owners. It allows the user to store their gear in an element exposed environment; that may be needed after a day out in the woods, beach, or on the trails. For both 2-door and 4-door models the kit turns the rear cargo space into a pickup bed. Unfortunately for 2-door Jeeps to have a bed measuring more than 1 foot, the rear seating is removed. There is a small space left in the 2-door cabin for storing smaller items.
Starwood Motors allows their customers to have the choice between a regular hardtop giving the Jeep a classic box look, or a sportier hatchback. Not only does that hatchback increase the vehicles edgier look, but also it increases the fuel economy. This roof option sacrifices some interior storage as it sits practically on the roll cage.
In conclusion, Starwood Motors is an amazing company pioneering a new industry for Jeep enthusiasts. Make sure to view their inventory, learn their story, and Google some of their pasts works currently unlisted on their website. They continue to release special edition Jeeps and cars that you can most likely see featured here in the future. So keep coming back for more if you want to keep dreaming about your future Jeep Wrangler.
