The Paris based fixie experts, Smog Bicyclettes, collaborate with Amsterdam based Atelier de l’Armée for a limited series of bikes with a handcrafted backpack and roll kit that together are more than a commuter, but wavers on the cusp of fine art. The Smog & Atelier de l’Armée fixed gear bike features a fresh hand painted camouflage pattern, based on the Swedish M90 camo, that is outfitted with a wooden Tibaut Malet handlebar and a leather Brooks saddle. Atelier de l’Armée throws in their handcrafted backpack that has been customized to beautifully fit the frame, and in addition has crafted a custom-made tool roll. Both are made out of a 1950’s French army duffel bag mixed with dead stock cowhide leather with indigo chambray and Japanese selvage denim dead stock for the inside. If you’re not cut out for the fixie life, the rear wheel of the bike can be flipped to make it a single-speed bike and can be paired with a set of brakes that come with the bike. So prepare yourself for battle in the streets with the stylized swedish army bike. Order yours at Atelier de l’Armée’s online shop.
