Neil Young has been hard at work creating a music player that carries the best audio quality available. It is made with zero-feedback circuitry and a digital filter that stops “unnatural pre-ringing”. Unlike CD, MP3, and AAC files, the Pono plays high-definition 24 or 32-bit audio files at a higher frequency as opposed to the others 16-bit audio files. The music player has 128GB of memory which allows up to 2000 HD albums to be stored. Memory cards will also be available to store and play additional music. The Pono Player will be sold at PonoMusic.com for $399 and will also be available to pre-order at Kickstarter.com starting March 15th. Pono Music will use their own iTunes like system to download and sync the HD Music, as well as offer their recommended ear bud and headphone products. Sounds impressive, but the real question is can it compete with the iPhone/ iPod?
